Learn how they got into editing, the different paths they took to transition from Assistant Editor to Editor, and what they learned (and wished they had learned) along the way.

Lauren Zoller - Project X (Soapbox Editor Co-Chair)
Lauren has been working in the trailer world for over 10 years now, and is grateful every day she gets to do this ridiculous job. She has worked at Ignition, MOCEAN, and now Project X/AV, getting to meet and learn from incredible people over the years. She has a knack for storytelling and some of her favorite work includes trailers for Poker Face, Starstruck, Assassination Nation, Worth, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Punisher S1. When she’s not in the edit bay you can find her out running, snowboarding, or hiking with her husband and dogs.

Laura Chin - GrandSon Creative
Laura is an editor at GrandSon Creative. In college her professor warned her against the trailer industry, so she putzed around reality for a few years before being drawn inexorably back in. She's enjoyed working on a broad range of projects such as Arnold; Pamela, A Love Story; Gaslit; Ted Lasso; Mulan; and The Lion King. She's a big ol' nerd about trailers and editing techniques. Other things she geeks out about include traveling, camping, Dungeons and Dragons, and cooking.

Tori Ciampa - Netflix
Tori knew she wanted to be a trailer editor her sophomore year of high school after cutting a music video to Europe’s “The Final Countdown” using footage from the Pokemon anime ripped from YouTube. Landing her first PA job at a small trailer house in 2016, by 2017 she was a Junior Editor at another shop cutting her first trailer for the Dreamworks/Netflix show “Voltron: Legendary Defender”. With immense passion, especially for animated work, she’s worked on content and trailers for Netflix, Crunchyroll, Activision/Blizzard, Disney, and Dreamworks — and once in a while writes her own custom lyrics to use in her cuts, most recently for the film “Nimona”. Some of her favorite pieces she’s cut (both animated and not) have been Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (which earned her a World Trailer Award and two Promax nominations with one win) and an award sizzle for Law and Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay. Outside of work, Tori enjoys going to conveyer sushi, playing video games, and reading FanFiction.

Kate Brogan - AV Squad
Kate is an editor at AV Squad. She’s worked on a variety of projects including Scream, The King’s Man, Smile, Paws of Fury, X, Space Jam, and Mission Impossible. Kate may have moved to LA from Colorado, but her heart will always stay in the mountains- whether it be hiking, snowboarding, or just roasting marshmallows… She’s there.
